Introducing our first teacher spotlight of the year, Ariana Sonsino!

Ariana is a Masa Israel Teaching Fellow at HaNassi school in Bat Yam. She is originally from San Antonio Texas and a recent graduate from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre and Dance in May of 2019. Her whole life she felt the need to give back to the state of Israel in some way. After graduating, she decided the best way for her to give back is to participate in MITF with Israel Experience and teach English to Israeli children. Her favorite thing about Bat Yam is the warm, tight community, and that she can walk to the beach every day after school! Ariana loves everything about Israel, the food, culture, and the people. What she loves the most is the fact that Israel represents hope.

“My favorite memory from the program so far is from the first day of school, when they had a ceremony for the 1st-grade class. The atmosphere was so welcoming and fun, and I knew that the year was going to be great.”

Her favorite Hebrew word so far is: Yalla (Arabic slang for “let’s go!”)
