Masa Israel Teaching Fellows with Israel Experience is the perfect opportunity for college graduates searching for a once in a lifetime opportunity to make a difference.
As a teaching fellow, each person has the opportunity to teach English to Israeli children and make a huge impact on their future. Most fellows are placed in schools with underprivileged students who have never met a native English speaker before. The MITF program works with the Ministry of Education in Israel to help children gain an important tool they will be able to use for the rest of their lives. These children will look up to you, view you as their mentor and friend, not just as a teacher or superior while teaching in Israel. Over the 10-month teaching program, each fellow builds relationships with students bringing excitement, enthusiasm, and creativity into the classroom.

As a Masa Israel Teaching Fellow, you have the opportunity to grow personally and professionally. Teaching English in Israel allows you to gain the leadership skills needed in the professional world. There are many opportunities for you to build an international network and connect with like-minded adults from all over the world. Throughout the teaching program, you have the freedom to enjoy the time you have outside of school whether it’s volunteering, going to the gym, or picking up a new hobby. Each person has the opportunity to take advantage of their free time and get to know themselves on a deeper level.

The school day ends early, at around one in the afternoon giving you free time to explore, volunteer, and enjoy your time here while teaching English in Israel. One of the best ways to immerse into society in Israel is to interact with locals here. Israel Experience sets each MITF participant with a host family. These host families bring you into their homes for Jewish holidays and Shabbat meals, making you feel more at home in Israel. These Israeli families want to make everyone feel welcome and get the most out of their experience here.

On the MITF program, there are many trips and seminars throughout the country. Whether it’s a hike in the Negev desert or a trip to the North of Israel, these trips and seminars allow each person to dive deeper into the Israeli culture and meet new people, see new landscapes and discover a different side of Israel most tourists do not see. You will be able to experience the country’s beautiful landscape, gain a better understanding of issues in Israeli society – such as Israel’s minorities, religion, politics, and more. Israel Experience provides you with Hebrew classes to learn basic Hebrew, there is no need to learn Hebrew before coming – come as you are, we will take it from there!
